China approved 106 new US pork and poultry plants for export.

China recently approved 106 U.S. pork and poultry plants to export eligible products. This is part of an effort to ensure the supply of these meats, the U.S. is a major supplying country pork and poultry to China.

China has pork meat consumption tradition, and poultry is closer follower. In total, pork (60%) and poultry (20%)  accounts for around 80% of total meat consumption in China.

Recently, China allowed import of eligible pork, poultry products from these newly approved facilities include 23 pork plants and 83 poultry plants, according to a Chinese Customs database.
