China to boost food imports from Latin America, the world's top agricultural importer to source more meat, dairy and grains from countries in South America, Europe and the Pacific, reported Reuters.

Shipments to China from key soybean supplier Brazil, top wheat exporter Australia and major pork supplier Europe, could surge.

"There will be rerouting of trade after China's import tariffs on US goods," said Pan Chenjun, a senior analyst for animal protein at Rabobank in Hong Kong.

"The main products that will be impacted are pork offal and chicken feet. For pork, both muscle and offal, China will get more supplies from Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands and other EU countries."

European and South American meat shipments to China are expected to rise as a result.

More Brazilian, Australian grains. "From a soybean perspective, South American suppliers are likely to benefit. Suppliers of other oilseeds, like canola could also see a boost," said Dennis Voznesenski, an analyst at Commonwealth Bank in Sydney......See more from Reuters here

In addition, according to a related report, Brazil is close to finalizing protocols for exporting pork offal and fish to China, the sources said negotiations for both protocols were advanced and should be completed soon. Brazil is the fourth-largest global exporter of pork.

Moreover, recent new relevant report revealed that China has lifted some restrictions on imports of German milk and dairy products over foot-and-mouth disease, the German agriculture ministry said in February that it is preparing an application to the World Organization for Animal Health to have Germany declared free of foot-and-mouth. This could enable export restrictions on German meat and dairy products to be lifted.

China is one of the largest and most important markets for Germen dairy products outside the EU, now with China market door opening, German milk and dairy products could be sooner arrived in Chinese dinner tables.
